Our Merchandise Accounting Team is part of ABOUT YOU Finance and is responsible for accurately recording all business transactions in accordance with HGB and IFRS – serving as the foundation for internal and external reporting requirements. The team also manages financial accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and merchandise accounting, while continuously driving the digitalization and optimization of accounting processes.

As a Senior Accounting Manager – Merchandise (m/f/d), you will take ownership of key processes within accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial accounting. You will ensure compliance with proper accounting standards and independently drive process improvements. In processing business transactions, you will be supported by our accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Responsibility for the accounting evaluation of inventory assets according to HGB and IFRS
• Monitoring and ensuring the complete inventory management and material cost postings along the entire logistics chain
• Analysis of recorded inventory discrepancies and derivation of appropriate measures
• Further development of technically fully automated processes to support the scaling of ABOUT YOU
• Creation of reports and monitoring based on SQL queries
• Participation in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Coordination of internal departments (especially Controlling, Logistics, and Procurement) as well as external auditors
• Participation in and management of projects in the finance sector

Requirements

• Completed degree in economics, apprenticeship as a certified accountant, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in the finance sector, as an auditor at an auditing firm and/or in a tax advisory role
• Very good MS Office skills
• Enthusiasm for complex tasks and strong analytical thinking skills
• Independent, proactive working style as well as good communication skills in English
• Experience with an ERP system, ideally Microsoft Dynamics NAV, is an advantage
• Technical understanding and experience in writing SQL queries is a plus
