Job Description:

EU Sustainability Engineering team is seeking a Sr Electrical Engineer to support the scaling of programs within Amazon's electrification transformation. Amazon is committed to sustainability and aims to be net-zero carbon by 2040, ahead of the Paris Agreement. This role focuses on electrifying last mile and middle mile fleet, maximizing energy efficiency in buildings, expanding private charging networks, and developing innovative electrical designs for smart grids.

Location options include Munich and London.

Key responsibilities include:

• Aligning stakeholder expectations for electrical infrastructure installation for EV charging and smart grid projects.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to advance energy efficiency and IoT technology deployment.
• Managing vendors to ensure quality and timely installation and commissioning.
• Owning electrical standards for equipment and validating designs during installation.
• Supporting field engineering teams during on-site installations.
• Preparing business cases and presenting program scopes to leadership.

A typical day might involve:

Engaging with various organizational levels and stakeholders to make strategic decisions impacting Amazon's transportation network, working with operations, safety, finance, procurement, and external vendors to develop and deploy new equipment and processes.

About the team:

EU Sustainability Engineering defines and improves electrical standards for EV charging and smart grid solutions, emphasizing reliability and cost-efficiency. The team collaborates closely with other departments, leveraging their expertise to enhance sustainability initiatives across Amazon’s last mile network.

Basic qualifications:

• Master's degree or higher in electrical engineering.
• Experience leading programs in dynamic environments with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in financial planning for large-scale projects.
• Ability to communicate complex topics clearly and analyze data effectively.
• Proficiency in Excel, reporting tools, databases, and cloud computing.
• Fluent in English; German proficiency is a plus.

Preferred qualifications:

• Advanced degree in electrical engineering or related field with expertise in electrical installations.
• Experience in electrical engineering projects, procurement, and maintenance contracting.
• Resource planning experience in large programs.
• Knowledge of European and global energy industry players.
• Experience with EV charging and Smart Grid technologies.
