The Public Affairs & Regulatory Strategy Manager, Capital Markets, supports the execution of the Public Affairs & Regulatory Strategy team’s mission within DWS Communications, Brand & CSR, focusing on developments in global capital markets regulation.

Your responsibilities :
  1. Support the development and execution of engagement plans to enhance DWS’ visibility as a leading voice in the asset management industry among relevant public sector stakeholders.
  2. Lead DWS’s lobbying efforts on capital markets topics in key geographical hubs, focusing on market infrastructures, market abuse, and regulatory frameworks like EMIR, MAR/MAD, MiFIR, MiFID, UCITS, AIFMD, and PRIIPS.
  3. Manage engagement with public sector and regulators as part of the global outreach plan, ensuring consistent messaging and narrative setting.
  4. Collaborate closely with Investment, Product, and Client Coverage divisions to align positions and prioritize policy issues.
  5. Manage engagement and messaging calendars within the Communications & Marketing strategy.
  6. Advise DWS’s business divisions on public sector matters related to capital markets regulation.
  7. Coordinate with regional/local associations to maintain a unified global policy approach.
  8. Build and maintain a network with peer regulatory-policy experts in relevant trade bodies (e.g., BVI, EFAMA, ALFI, The IA, SIFMA).
  9. Develop processes for updating and communicating regulatory developments within DWS.
  10. Coordinate DWS’s responses to consultations in the relevant subject areas.
  11. Leverage communication channels across the organization to disseminate key regulatory information.
Your qualifications and skills :
  1. Relevant work experience, ideally with capital market rules and public/regulatory affairs.
  2. Expertise in financial-market topics from a regulatory and legal perspective.
  3. Ability to simplify complex topics into clear briefings and communication strategies.
  4. Self-motivated, creative, strategic, and operational thinker.
  5. Confident in engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite executives.
  6. Existing network with industry multipliers, public sector contacts, and lobbyists.
  7. Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, global, and flat organizational environments.
  8. Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; a collaborative team player.
  9. Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  10. Willingness and ability to travel across Europe (Berlin, Brussels, Paris) occasionally.
