We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer (m/f/d) to oversee, guide, and support our IT environment. The role involves ensuring security compliance, designing and implementing network solutions, and supporting both reactive and proactive network needs. This position is crucial for maintaining the performance, security, and reliability of our communication networks, working within the engineering branch under the group-wide networks and security division.

What your day will look like

1. Design, configure, test, and maintain LAN/WAN/security solutions, including Firewall, Wi-Fi, Routing, and Switching Technologies.
2. Support all end-to-end network infrastructure, managing incidents and requests effectively.
3. Identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues.
4. Deliver technical and business projects.
5. Interface professionally with internal teams.
6. Manage BAU activities like Adds/Moves/Changes to the Data Network and Security Estate.
7. Manage network and security products such as Zscaler, FortiNet, Cisco, Microsoft Azure, Cloudflare, Email Security Gateway, AWS.
8. Maintain comprehensive documentation of networks.
9. Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and policies.
10. Monitor performance, capacity, and manage network events.

What you need to fulfill the role

You Must Be

• A European citizen residing in Germany or Austria.

You Must Have

• At least 2 years of relevant network engineering experience.
• Knowledge of network routing protocols like HSRP and NAT.
• Knowledge of switching technologies such as POE and SFPs.
• Experience with firewall technologies, VPNs, IPS, and URL filtering.
• Knowledge of network cabling options like OM4 and Cat6.
• Experience designing network topologies and diagrams.
• Experience submitting change requests and method statements.
• Support and project delivery experience in network engineering.
• Knowledge of cloud environments such as Azure and AWS, including connectivity.
• Understanding of DNS (public and private).

It Would Be Good to Be

• German speaking.

It Would Be Good to Have

• Experience with Fortinet, Cisco Nexus, Azure AD, and managing multi-cloud architectures.
• Experience with telcos, web security, encryption, access control, and penetration testing.
