Job Description:

Client Background & Position Overview

Our client is a global Chinese company leader in information and communications technology, with a focus on Power Conversion Technology. Their Power Conversion Technology Laboratory within the Nuremberg Research Center is responsible for Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design, and Strategic Technology Planning. The team plays a key role in designing power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage, Data Centers, Electric Vehicles, and Embedded Power Supplies.

Responsibilities

1. Design arc quenching chambers and contact systems, perform multibody simulations, and develop CAD drawings to enable fast fault current interruption across various voltage and current ratings.
2. Design, simulate, and manufacture actuators needed to drive contact systems.
3. Explore arc mechanisms, overcome technical barriers such as zero flashover, zero breakdown, and zero emission under high voltage and large short-circuit currents, providing key arc extinguishing solutions for new power distribution devices in digital energy scenarios.
4. Propose innovative technical solutions to accelerate arc interruption and reliably interrupt DC fault currents.
5. Coordinate with suppliers and oversee the fabrication of parts for breaker assembly.
6. Identify relevant standards and conduct tests to qualify prototypes and facilitate market entry.
7. Author technical reports, patents, and publications.
8. Engage in continuous research and attend relevant conferences to stay updated.

Requirements

1. Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
2. At least 8 years of experience in designing, analyzing, and optimizing arc-related components such as arc-extinguishing systems and conductive circuits for low-voltage switch products, with a focus on improving arc-extinguishing performance.
3. Minimum 8 years of experience in the design and testing of circuit breakers; experience with DC breakers is highly advantageous.
4. Experience in constructing test setups for various breaker concepts.
5. Research, development, and application experience with key technologies and devices in this field.
6. Strong basic knowledge of mechanics.
7. Excellent teamwork, rapid learning ability, and proficient English communication and writing skills.
