Our client is a global biopharmaceutical company and a leader in the manufacture of plasma-derived and recombinant therapeutic products in more than 100 countries. The company is committed to treating rare and serious diseases and improving the quality of life of patients around the world.

For the Marburg site (Recombinant and Gene Therapy Product Development Department), we are looking for a Laboratory Technician (m/f/d) for a fixed-term contract of 18 months as soon as possible.

Main Responsibilities

  • Accountable for experimental hands-on routine testing of development samples. Operate complex analytical instruments and software. Methods and instruments include but are not limited to HPLC (RPLC, CEX, AAA, SEC), plate-based assays (e.g. ELISA) and respective automated liquid handling stations (TECAN, Hamilton).
  • Accountable for raw data check and electronic reporting of generated data. Monitoring and control of method performance.
  • Accountable for instrument maintenance and calibration as well as general lab coordination activities.
  • Responsible for interpretation of scientific data, support analytical root-cause investigations and proposing next steps if required.
  • Support general lab tasks of others (e.g buffer preparation)
  • Communicate (written, oral) with customers and project-teams

Qualifications And Experience

  • Sound technical / scientific background in a life science discipline, preferably protein biochemistry or biotechnology.
  • Proven track record in executing hands-on a variety of complex, state-of-the-art bioanalytical methods in the lab
  • Experience in operating complex bioanalytical instrumentation (e.g. HPLC devices, CE-SDS devices), knowledge in operating of automated liquid handling systems
  • Proficient with standard software (MS office), laboratory and statistical software (e.g. ELN, Jmp) preferably practical knowledge in special bioanalytical software and scripting skills in software relevant for data science
  • A motivated, reliable and driven personality with a solid bioanalytical expertise foundation, critical eye to details and rapid onboarding attitude
  • Acting in a self-managed and driven manner to changing workplace priorities, to be committed to problem solving and task completion in the agreed time and quality.
  • Expertise in sample management
  • Passionate about working to critical unmet medical needs of patients
  • Usually completed 3.5-year training, e.g. as a biology laboratory technician
  • Project experience in product development and knowledge of relevant methods, systems and applications with > 5 years of work experience (e.g. usually with additional certification)
  • English Level 2 (fluent), German beneficial
