As the Financial Controller for two hotels, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the hotels.

This position ensures that the financial activities align with the overall business strategy and goals, providing financial insight and guidance to the management team to drive performance and profitability.

Your key responsibilities include:

  1. Financial Management and Reporting:
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with local and international accounting standards.
  • Accounting Operations:
    • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
    • Ensure proper reconciliation of accounts and timely closure of financial periods.
    • Maintain and enforce internal control procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Strategic Planning and Advisory:
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the General Manager and executive team to support strategic decision-making.
    • Participate in the formulation of the hotel’s strategy and support the implementation of financial initiatives.
    • Monitor financial performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory requirements, and internal policies.
    • Coordinate with external auditors and facilitate audit processes.
    • Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the hotel’s financial integrity.
  • Staff Management and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide training opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Systems and Technology:
    • Manage and optimize financial management systems and software.
    • Ensure the security and integrity of financial data.
    • Stay updated with advancements in financial technology and implement relevant solutions.
  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • A Master’s degree or CPA/CFA qualification is preferred.
    • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.
    • Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel skills.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
    • High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
