Principal/Expert Engineer in functional Safety in Active Safety Systems (m/f/d)


Your mission

  • Responsible for independent functional safety development for the intelligent chassis system in concept phase and system level including ID/HARA/FSC/TSC/TSR/FMEA/FTA/DFA.
  • Define functional safety variation strategy for the intelligent chassis system.
  • Define failure diagnosis strategy and safe state strategy at system and software levels.
  • Participate in hardware and software design review for functional safety of the intelligent chassis, including hardware, software design, and test specifications.
  • Build and manage functional safety requirement collection, analysis, and system requirement specifications.
  • Create system function modeling and simulation for HARA.
  • Develop functional safety test scenarios, test cases, and verification strategies, including system integration testing.
  • Provide technical support during development, DV/PV, mass production, and after-sales.
  • Research state-of-the-art functional safety strategies for the intelligent chassis to maintain technical leadership.

Your areas of expertise

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in vehicle engineering, mechanical/electronic engineering, automation, electrical engineering, or related fields.
  • Extensive experience in functional safety development of braking systems or chassis electronics, including ESP/IBooster/IBP/EMB at system and software levels. Experience with ABS/TCS/ESC is required.
  • Knowledge of failure monitoring and diagnosis strategies for braking systems.
  • Proficiency with tools like CANape/Analyzer, Matlab/Simulink, CarMaker, CarSim. CarMaker experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with HARA, FMEA, FTA, and other failure analysis methods.
  • Knowledge of automotive functional safety standards such as ISO 26262.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
