The Research Group Macromolecular Crystallography is looking for

Postdoc (f/m/d) in Biochemistry / Biotechnology

Your Tasks

• You will analyze all the designed proteins generated within PROFOUND and produce promising candidates by cloning and bacterial expression.
• You will purify the proteins and characterize them structurally by X-ray crystallography.
• You will analyze the specific structures with regard to the aspects that went into the design and discuss further design steps with the working groups involved in the design.
• You will present results at project meetings, stakeholder events, and conferences.
• You will prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

Your Profile

• MSc/Diploma and PhD in Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline, ideally with a focus on macromolecular X-ray crystallography and bioinformatics.
• Practical experience with the purification and characterization of proteins.
• Experience in academia outside Germany is an advantage.
• High motivation to work in an interdisciplinary team.
• Independent and proactive way of working.
• Very good knowledge of English is a must; knowledge of German is an advantage.
