Job Description:

ZF LIFETEC is one of the world's leading suppliers of passive safety systems. As Simi Automotive, a global innovation leader for motion capture software and complete systems for recording and analyzing human movements and a subsidiary of ZF LIFETEC, we contribute our experience with camera-based systems to the development of solutions for vehicle interior monitoring. Together with our colleagues at ZF LIFETEC, we are working on adaptive restraint systems.

Tasks

As the IT Administrator, you will be the backbone of the IT operations for about 20 colleagues. You will take responsibility for managing, maintaining, and improving our IT infrastructure. Your role will be critical in ensuring our development team has the tools and systems they need to innovate and excel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Network Management:Design, implement, monitor, and troubleshoot a secure and reliable network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless systems.
  • Software & Tools: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of software.
  • Hardware Management: Ensure the hardware (servers, workstations, networking equipment) is up-to-date and functioning optimally.
  • Availability:Manage data storage systems on-premises, ensuring high availability, scalability and backup/recovery processes.
  • IT Security, Policies, and Documentation: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect against cyber threats, including firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection systems, and regular security audits, while ensuring comprehensive documentation of the IT environment and developing best practices for IT policies.
  • Organization: Collaborate with our corporate parent and lead the integration of our infrastructure.
Requirements

We are looking for someone who is not just technically proficient but also proactive and solution-oriented.

Required Skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience as an IT Administrator or similar role and responsibility for end-to-end IT infrastructure.
  • Experience with cybersecurity tools and best practices (firewalls, endpoint protection) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP), Kerberos, firewalls, VPNs, and routing/switching technologies.
  • Proficiency in Linux/BSD/Windows server environments.
  • Expertise in managing storage solutions (NAS/Cloud).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (Proxmox, VMWare) or containerization (e.g. Docker).
  • Experience with HPC technologies.
