Jobbeschreibung

At E.ON, data capabilities are split into two pillars: “data as an asset to innovation” and “data usages such as AI and data analytics”. Both are organized in separate units. You, as a Technical Data Governance Manager (f/m/d), will focus on the pillar “data as an asset to innovation” and will design and implement data governance and management capabilities across various digital technologies, platforms, and business units, supporting our data strategy. Your role involves defining and operationalizing processes that support data governance, compliance, and the growth of organizational capabilities to manage data assets throughout their lifecycle.

You will be part of the central Data Architecture & Governance team, collaborating closely with data and technical teams, and key stakeholders at central and business unit levels across Europe. You will also support multiple E.ON Group business units in their data governance and strategy initiatives.

Meaningful & Challenging - Your Tasks
  1. Design, embed, operate, and scale data governance processes across various data programs, systems, and digital innovations.
  2. Automate process and status documentation within a data catalogue, including complex ETL processes and compliance requirements.
  3. Gather compliance and business requirements, coordinate task forces, and provide guidance.
  4. Develop and formalize the central data governance framework, defining roles and responsibilities.
  5. Contribute to data strategy and support its implementation, focusing on technical design.
  6. Support upskilling and knowledge sharing on data governance across the group.
  7. Define, align, and operationalize sub-strategies for data management and governance.
  8. Identify industry trends and data-driven innovation opportunities.
Authentic & Ambitious - Your Profile
  1. Bachelor/Master’s degree in relevant fields such as data engineering, data science, economics, or equivalent.
  2. Several years of experience in project management, data engineering, and operationalization of data governance roles.
  3. Strong knowledge of data management, governance, strategy, and architecture tools (e.g., Collibra, SAP MDM), data lake architectures (e.g., Azure Data Lake), and programming languages (e.g., SQL).
  4. Understanding of metadata management, database scanning, firewalls, and reporting tools like PowerBI, Tableau, or Qlik.
  5. Experience in building enterprise glossaries and implementing data ownership and stewardship.
  6. Extensive experience managing large-scale data projects in a regulated, fast-changing industry.
  7. Excellent communication, facilitation, and consulting skills to simplify complex data concepts for diverse audiences.
  8. Ability to understand and integrate legal obligations into organizational and technical contexts.

We offer full flexibility: work from anywhere in Germany, including our offices from Hamburg to Munich. Interested in more? Enjoy up to 20 days of workation within Europe annually.
