Currently, we are looking for a Developer Advocate in our portfolio company — Tower.

Tower helps data scientists and data engineers deliver on their roadmaps faster by providing a serverless data and AI platform built on Iceberg storage that is fully integrated with your enterprise infrastructure. Our mission is to support the development of a multi-engine world where companies pick the best engine for the job and own their data. We are a team of industry veterans, backed by leading VCs, on a mission to push the boundaries of what’s possible to dramatically improve the lives of data engineers and data scientists worldwide.

As a Tower developer advocate, you will wear two hats: advocating for our users and helping incorporate customer feedback into product development. Unlike many companies, we genuinely value your product feedback, and you will often be the first "builder" to receive user insights.

You will also have an externally facing role, educating our data and AI engineering users about new features, customer case studies, and product integrations. Familiarity with data engineers' challenges and market trends, a strong online presence, and a speaker portfolio are essential.

About you:

1. Ability to sense patterns in user feedback and synthesize hypotheses on user needs and journeys.
2. Ability to organize your work, produce content, and book engagements with minimal support.
3. Personal experience as a data engineer using Python and SQL.
4. Knowledge of pain points in data projects from inception to sunset.
5. Strong online presence demonstrated across personal and business communication channels.
6. Willingness to relocate temporarily for 3 months to Berlin, Germany, or make frequent visits during onboarding and knowledge transfer.

Nice to have:

1. Significant startup experience as an early team member.
2. Knowledge of legacy data engineering tools, including Java, Spark, DBT, Dagster, Prefect, and Airflow.
