About this opportunity

To strengthen our Finance team at Darmstadt, we are looking for a Specialist Finance & Accounting (m/w/d). We seek a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will manage various financial aspects of our organization, ensuring smooth accounting processes. If you are dedicated, detail-oriented, and passionate about accuracy, we want you on our team.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to US-GAAP.
2. Process all business transactions in our local ERP system.
3. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
4. Ensure accurate revenue recognition for software sales.
5. Oversee payroll and payroll tax activities.
6. Process expense reports.
7. Handle insurance and rent-related financial matters.
8. Prepare monthly account reconciliations (Blackline).
9. Develop annual operating plans and quarterly forecasts.
10. Continuously improve finance and accounting processes to comply with Align policies.
11. Coordinate finance-related topics (expenses, budget, dunning process) with other departments like Customer Support, Sales, and Marketing.
12. Collaborate closely with the exocad America team in the US.
13. Participate in other internal projects.

Your Profile and Skills:

1. Bachelor's or master’s degree in business administration with electives in finance/accounting or equivalent (e.g., Bilanzbuchhalter).
2. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in an accounting role.
3. Experience with journal entries, month-end reporting, and planning/forecast processes.
4. Familiarity with US GAAP.
5. Basic knowledge of US tax law is a plus.
6. Knowledge of Quickbooks and SAP-FI is preferred.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
8. Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
9. Highly organized, energetic, and detail-oriented.
10. IT/Software affinity is advantageous.
