We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer (m / f / d) to oversee, guide, and support our IT environment. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining network solutions, ensuring security compliance, and supporting both reactive and proactive network management. The Network Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to ensure optimal network performance, security, and compliance within the engineering branch under the group-wide networks and security division.

What your day will look like

• Design, configure, test, and maintain LAN / WAN / Security solutions, including Firewall, Wi-Fi, Routing, and Switching Technologies
• Support all end-to-end network infrastructure, managing incidents and requests effectively
• Diagnose and resolve network incidents and problems
• Deliver technical projects and support business-led initiatives
• Interface professionally with internal employees
• Perform BAU activities like Adds / Moves / Changes to the Data Network and Security Estate
• Manage network and security products such as Zscaler, FortiNet, Cisco, Microsoft Azure, Cloudflare, AWS, etc.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for all networks
• Ensure network compliance with accreditation standards and policies
• Monitor performance, capacity, and manage network events

What you need to fulfill the role

You Must Be

• A European Citizen living in Germany or Austria.

You Must Have

• At least 2 years of relevant network engineering experience
• Knowledge of routing protocols like HSRP and NAT
• Knowledge of switching technologies and features such as POE and SFPs
• Experience with firewall technologies, VPNs, IPS, and URL filtering
• Knowledge of network cabling options like OM4, Cat6
• Experience designing network topologies and diagrams
• Experience in change management and BAU support roles
• Knowledge of cloud environments like Azure and AWS
• Understanding of DNS (public and private)

It Would Be Good to Be

• German Speaking

It Would Be Good to Have

• Experience with Fortinet, Cisco Nexus, and other network technologies
• Experience managing Telcos and service providers
• Experience with Azure AD, AWS services, and managing hybrid network architectures
• Knowledge of security solutions like Active Directory, encryption, web and email security gateways, WAF, DDoS protection, and penetration testing tools
