Senior Data Engineer Position near Stuttgart, Germany

I am seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join my client, a leading international provider of photonics sensors, located near Stuttgart, Germany. This dynamic role involves shaping IoT data infrastructure and creating a scalable data catalogue to streamline metadata management.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Design and optimize a highly efficient storage layer capable of handling vast amounts of sensor data, ensuring data integrity, speed, and scalability.
2. Contribute to developing a hybrid (Cloud and Edge) IoT data infrastructure.
3. Construct a robust and scalable data catalogue, incorporating optimal approaches for different data types.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant technical degree in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
• At least 4 years of industry experience in data engineering, including one year as a data architect focusing on Big Data, IoT, and sensor data management for analysis and machine learning.
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art storage technologies such as noSQL, time series databases, document stores, and graph databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Fluent English and at least B1/B2 German language skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience working with IoT and/or sensor technology.
