If this sounds like you, or you’re curious to learn more, then this role could be the perfect opportunity. Join our Power-to-X Department as our new Pipeline Engineer (m/w/d) and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.

Your new role

As our new Pipeline Engineer (m/w/d), you will be part of a team of process and other discipline engineers located in Germany and abroad. You will tackle interesting, challenging, and varied projects within the Energy sector, participating in the transition to greener fuels such as Hydrogen, methanol, and ammonia, as well as CO2 storage and transport within CCUS projects. We are a busy and energetic team with a positive mindset, always looking for the next challenge. We work on early phase studies (Feasibility, Concept, and FEED) and detailed design projects, mainly for onshore facilities within Hydrogen, Power to X technologies, Gas, LNG, and CO2 transport and storage. Our focus as Ramboll Germany is on the local market, but we also have projects in Denmark, Europe, and other parts of the world.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  1. Participate in multidisciplinary project teams in all execution phases from early development to construction within sustainable energy projects.
  2. Design pipeline systems considering route optimization, hydraulic analysis, and environmental impact.
  3. Select appropriate materials, coatings, and corrosion protection measures for pipeline construction to maximize longevity and safety.
  4. Manage CAPEX costs and oversee supplier relationships.
  5. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  6. Prepare process-related documentation for Concept or FEED studies.
  7. Participate in HAZOP/HAZID studies.
  8. Potential involvement in site supervision, commissioning, and start-up activities (FAT/SAT).

Your new team

You will be part of Ramboll Energy, a global leader in sustainable energy solutions with 1,800 experts across 14 countries, covering the full energy value chain from production to distribution.

About you

We support your personal and professional growth from day one. For this role, we seek candidates with:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Approximately 4-7 years of experience in pipeline engineering, including design, construction, and integrity management, preferably in Power-to-X or CCUS sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of pipeline design codes and industry standards.
  • Excellent project management skills and teamwork ability.
  • Experience with electrolysis and synthesis processes (e.g., Hydrogen, methanol, ammonia, or liquid CO2) is highly valued.
  • Fluent English skills; German language proficiency is required.

What we can offer you

  • Investment in your development.
  • Leadership guided by our principles.
  • Acknowledgment of your unique qualities.
  • Inspiration from colleagues and projects.
  • Long-term stability as a foundation-owned company.
  • Permanent employment, possibly part-time.
  • Flexible mobile working options.
  • Collaborative, supportive environment.
  • Flat hierarchies and quick decision processes.
  • Varied, meaningful work.
  • Company pension scheme and additional benefits.
  • Company bicycle and 30 days' holiday annually.
