Schrödinger is on the cutting edge of computer-aided drug discovery and materials science. We set the record for the largest and fastest cloud computing run, and our software suites continue to revolutionize the design of therapeutics and materials. FEP+, WaterMap, Glide, Maestro, and LiveDesign are just a few examples of the tools we’ve created.

As a member of our Scientific Support team, you’ll provide scientific and technical support to life-science customers ranging from large pharma companies to biotechs, as well as academic institutions. By closely monitoring issues of interest to our users, you'll play a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction.

Who will love this job:

  • A computational chemist with experience in molecular dynamics simulations and/or the application of molecular modeling software tools to biologics research
  • An enthusiastic user of Desmond, Amber, GROMACS, and/or CHARMM
  • An excellent communicator with impeccable interpersonal and organizational skills, capable of effectively conveying complex scientific concepts to a diverse audience
  • A quick-thinking customer supporter passionate about helping scientists leverage cutting-edge computational tools to accelerate drug discovery and biologics research
  • A problem solver who’s familiar with high-performance computing clusters and queueing systems
  • A keen Python programmer, eager to develop small scripts

What you’ll do:

  • Provide expert scientific guidance and technical assistance to the Schrödinger user community
  • Troubleshoot user difficulties and resolve technical issues related to the application of our software
  • Guide the technical deployment of Schrödinger software in high-performance computing environments
  • Log and track problems and enhancement requests
  • Channel feedback to the development teams, ensuring our software continues to meet the evolving needs of the scientific community

What you should have:

  • PhD in computational chemistry (preferably with a background in Biologics)
  • Excellent English language skills (both verbal and written)

As a Schrödinger employee in Mannheim or Munich, you'll enjoy local transport reimbursement, a BahnCard 50, bike leasing, the EGYM Wellpass (corporate fitness program), our employee equity plan, employee volunteer program, donation match program, a dedicated counseling service, and our company travel insurance. Our offices are centrally-located, stocked with snacks and beverages, powered by green energy, and host to many team-building events.

As an equal opportunity employer, Schrödinger hires outstanding individuals into every position in the company. People who work with us have a high degree of engagement, a commitment to working effectively in teams, and a passion for the company's mission. We place the highest value on creating a safe environment where our employees can grow and contribute, and refuse to discriminate on the basis of race, color, religious belief, sex, age, disability, national origin, alienage or citizenship status, marital status, partnership status, caregiver status, sexual and reproductive health decisions, gender identity or expression, or sexual orientation. To us, "diversity" isn't just a buzzword, but an important element of our core principles and key business practices. We believe that diverse companies innovate better and think more creatively than homogenous ones because they take into account a wide range of viewpoints. For us, greater diversity doesn't mean better headlines or public images - it means increased adaptability and profitability.
