Senior Designer
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization
Develop industry-leading creative solutions for assigned concepts or categories to create a highly relevant, desirable, and distinct adidas brand image. These solutions should serve athlete-led brand moments and system solutions for categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creative development for concepts or systems across multiple athlete and consumer touchpoints, from solution/product to the event or category handover.
- Develop concepts and creative strategies that fulfill objectives of category/concept briefs.
- Collaborate with Creative Direction and category teams to ensure holistic storytelling on the product level.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure consumer and brand relevance on projects.
- Lead the execution of creative strategies to ensure end-to-end creative excellence for events and categories.
- Direct various creative resources (agencies, freelancers, writers, photographers, etc.) to ensure holistic creative execution.
- Review and approve production stages of creative work.
- Maximize results within given budgets and timeframes.
- Participate in creating annual and long-term Creative Direction strategies.
- Present and communicate creative solutions clearly, effectively selling ideas to stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and initiate proposals or projects.
- Seek new design resources capable of delivering world-class results.
Key Relationships
- Design counterparts in Business Units
- Cross-functional teams in Innovation related to product and systems (concept, development, engineering, athlete science, etc.)
- Creative Direction organization
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Design skills: Sketching, 2D software (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.), 3D software (Blender, Gravity Sketch, Rhino, etc.), 3D rendering software (Keyshot, Blender, etc.), Scripting (Grasshopper, AI-generated imagery/3D, etc.)
- Strong visual and verbal skills to create relevant and impactful design solutions.
Experience in art direction of photoshoots, pre-press reviews, and approvals.
- Fluent in at least one other European language.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate-level design education or equivalent.
- Solid education and advanced experience in creative development of communication tools.
- At least 6-8 years of experience in the sporting goods/fashion industry or a related design industry at a managerial level.
- Proven experience with the entire design process, including project scope and time planning, design steps, production/execution, athlete interactions, and pre-press processes.
