An Oracle Data Centre Manager will serve as the technical liaison between technology teams and the Data Centre Environment. You will troubleshoot and resolve all but the most complex infrastructure issues, knowing which issues to escalate to appropriate resolver groups. You are responsible for creating and maintaining documentation on supported technologies and understanding all aspects of the equipment you support. The role involves improving current processes, executing small projects independently, and collaborating with your manager on larger local projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular performance check-ins with team members to ensure alignment with individual and organizational goals.
• Hold regular 1-on-1 meetings to provide feedback, support, and career development guidance.
• Coach and mentor team members.
• Audit data center spaces to ensure compliance with operational standards and identify areas for improvement.
• Prioritize and delegate tasks effectively within the team.
• Perform performance reviews of vendors and colocation providers.

Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience managing teams, including line management, appraisals, performance reviews, and hiring.
• Over 3 years of experience in IT Infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment (200-1000+ servers).
• Over 3 years supporting and troubleshooting distributed, N-Tier applications, software, and operating systems.

Data Centre Experience

• Systems administration (Linux and/or Windows Servers).
• Networking (DNS, TCP/IP).
• Proven experience in process improvement.
• Ability to delve into system or process details to resolve customer problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong influencing skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal management oversight.
• Willingness to provide after-hours support as needed.
• Experience supporting large enterprise customers in operational environments.
• Strong understanding of Data Center infrastructure: cabling, cooling, power (UPS, generators).
• Experience in Data Center white space capacity planning.
• Understanding of Change Management processes.
