Category Buyer (m/f/d)

Position Summary

In this position you manage the mechanical or electronic supplier portfolio on direct material for the Munich plant. The objective is to get the best suppliers in place, to optimize their performance (cost, quality, delivery, innovation), and to support the growth & profitability of the key products.

General Responsibilities

  • Manage mechanical/electronic commodity for the Munich plant: suppliers management, strategy definition & deployment
  • Negotiate the supply agreement for all Mechanical/Electronic suppliers of Munich
  • Build the strategy for the mechanical / electronic portfolio and align it and deploy it across the organization
  • Participate in the program of cost improvement for the HLM (heart-lung-machine) machine and lead activities of cost improvement in relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders (SQE, R&D, Manufacturing): resourcing, second source, best cost countries localization
  • Activate all the ideas of redesign to cost in collaboration with the different department of the company
  • Taking all the necessary initiative to secure supply risk including contingency plan, resourcing, double sourcing
  • Being the key procurement contact for new project implementation

Skills and Experience

  • Some years’ experience in strategic sourcing / procurement with knowledge of electronic ormechanical commodity within an industrial environment (medical, automotive, aerospace)
  • Capability of execution in changing environment
