As part of the AIT team, you will have the following responsibilities:

  1. Definition of MGSE (Mechanical Ground Support Equipment) including the following tasks;
  2. Processing assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) tasks as part of space projects (satellites, payloads, subsystems);
  3. Coordination of the mechanical AIT work on the satellite in consultation with the AIT manager and other disciplines involved;
  4. Preparation and implementation of mechanical integrations of flight hardware on the satellite, as well as documentation of the work results;
  5. Preparation of concepts for mechanical AIT and MGSE (Mechanical Ground Support Equipment) and creation of corresponding planning documents;
  6. Practical implementation of external and internal requirements for the mechanical AIT, MGSE, and thermal hardware;
  7. Support subcontractors for MGSE, thermal hardware, and test equipment;
  8. Creation of integration and test procedures, reports, etc., including evaluation of test results;
  9. Procurement of MGSE for satellite projects;
  10. Creation of specifications, support of tender processes, and coordination with subcontractors up to delivery and acceptance;
  11. Coordination and participation in the development of MGSE according to the PRC process and final implementation of the admission test (Proof Load Test) for CE certification;
  12. Specification and acceptance of thermal hardware and test equipment;
  13. Revision and update of generic MGSE and thermal hardware specifications in line with project requirements;
  14. Participation in test and launch campaigns, including the willingness to work abroad for several months;
  15. Participation in Non-Conformance Review Boards (NRBs) to identify causes of errors and find solutions;
  16. Cooperation with other Airbus locations and European subcontractors.
Qualifications

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

  1. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering;
  2. Proficiency in MS Office applications;
  3. Experience with Windchill and CAD software (CATIA) is desirable;
  4. Experience with SAP applications;
  5. Familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project);
  6. Technical understanding of mechanisms and system elements of satellites and space probes;
  7. Driving license and safe handling of cranes and aerial work platforms are desirable;
  8. Experience in high-quality mechanical integration, preferably from space components;
  9. Knowledge of manufacturing and integration standards in the aerospace industry;
  10. Understanding of electrical components and their applications;
  11. Experience with measurement technology (mechanical/electrical) is desirable;
  12. Assertiveness, independence, structured working style, teamwork skills, and high quality awareness;
  13. Willingness to travel and work shifts abroad;
  14. Fluency in English is mandatory; German language skills are an advantage.
