Analyst – Emerging Markets Private Equity / Venture Capital (m/f/d)

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the day-to-day operations of an equity/venture capital impact fund focused on direct investments in Africa
• Contribute to the monitoring and development of the existing portfolio (FI private equity, FinTech venture capital)
• Accompany all aspects of the investment cycle from origination, initial eligibility screening, off- and on-site due diligence to investment proposal drafting, presentation to senior management and investment committee
• Perform financial analysis and modelling exercises
• Perform market analysis for the target region and beyond
• Establish (and/or expand) personal network in the target region to generate deal flow

What we expect:

• University degree in economics, finance, business administration, or computer science
• Knowhow in Private Equity, Venture Capital, Investment Banking, or a high growth startup environment, ideally within Emerging Markets
• Strong financial modelling experience, and solid understanding of valuation methodologies, and financial statements
• Experience in the assessment of early stage/growth stage start-up companies
• Strong interest in Emerging Market investing and VC ecosystem
• Excellent written and spoken English, additional language such as French and/or Arabic is a plus (but not mandatory)
• An open, communicative, and upbeat personality, who loves to interact with people, and enjoys being a host and the backbone of her/his/their team.
• Willingness to frequently travel to the targeted regions
