This role has responsibility for oversight of finance processes and controls for three entities located in Germany and France. The role reports to the Senior Accounting Manager based remotely in Dormagen.

The work involves performing a subset of daily transactions, overseeing the work of an accountant in Berlin and an offshore team. During month-end, the team prepares reconciliations and groupwide reporting for the entities. The role also manages external reporting deadlines, including tax filings and statistical reporting.

The candidate will join a motivated finance team that serves other departments, the managing director, the group finance team in Woburn MA, USA, and the offshore team. External communication will mainly involve auditors and tax advisors in Germany and France.

What you will be doing :

Commercial Finance

• Act as a liaison between operational teams and finance to ensure effective communication and integration of business initiatives
• Collaborate with the Senior Manager Accounting to maintain and improve finance processes and communication
• Support ad hoc projects to foster business growth and efficiency

Reporting & Compliance

• Assist in preparing and reviewing monthly and quarterly US GAAP reports for the three entities
• Support the preparation of annual accounts under local GAAPs (German HGB), French GAAP, and tax returns and audits
• Perform and review key monthly balance sheet reconciliations and general journals
• Review payroll and personnel-related financial matters

What are we looking for :

• Experienced accountant with some team leadership experience
• Fluent in English and German (written and verbal); French skills are a plus
• Experience working in international environments with virtual teams across time zones
• Knowledge of multiple accounting GAAPs, including US GAAP and German HGB
• Experience with large ERP systems, preferably SAP
• Openness to change management
• Dedicated, ambitious, capable of managing high workloads and shifting priorities
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction at all levels and with external providers
• Willingness to travel occasionally within EMEA and the USA
