We are currently recruiting for a Data Protection Specialist (GDPR) to join our European Information Security Team. This collaborative role supports our European markets and collaborates closely with internal departments in Germany and Poland, as well as Global and Regional Information Security Officers.

This position reports to the Data Privacy Manager and is based in our offices in Berlin, Germany.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone experienced in compliance, privacy, GDPR, or related fields, with knowledge of data privacy laws and practices. Strong communication skills to deliver training and support to teams are essential.

Responsibilities:
  1. Support data privacy programs led by the Data Protection Officer (DPO).
  2. Serve as the point of contact for privacy matters for business departments, support functions, and management.
  3. Educate and train employees on privacy compliance responsibilities.
  4. Identify, raise, and address privacy risks in internal operations and projects.
  5. Manage privacy-related incidents.
  6. Assist Data Protection Coordinators with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) for new systems, applications, workflows, and third-party engagements, and follow up on recommended actions.
  7. Implement actions to ensure compliance with relevant information management and protection laws.
Skills, Experience, and Attributes:
  1. Over 2 years of experience in compliance, privacy, or related fields.
  2. Extensive knowledge of data privacy laws and practices.
  3. Ability to translate legal requirements into operational procedures.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English; Polish is a plus.
  5. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  6. Self-motivated and capable of working independently and in a team.
  7. Strong ownership and task management skills.
  8. Proficiency in reporting activities.
  9. Cybersecurity technical background.
  10. Experience in the retail industry.
  11. Understanding of cyber threat risk analysis.
  12. Relevant privacy and security certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CISA, CISM, CISSP, SANS, GIAC) are preferred.
