Jobbeschreibung

The Maintenance Manager provides secondary-level support to the General Manager for the delivery of materiel maintenance on assets at Army Prepositioned Stocks (APS 2) project maintenance activities. The Maintenance Manager assigns and supervises technical personnel engaged in the upgrade, test, repair, modification, fabrication, and rebuilding of critical, complex Army equipment within the European theater. Responsibilities include organizational, system, and component level repair of armored and weapon systems, ensuring quality control, safety, environmental management, and personnel management.

The role involves interfacing with URS Federal Services, Inc. and Army management to address technical issues, utilizing Army Logistic Information Systems (LIS), and overseeing maintenance operations within automated logistical support systems like GCSS-A and LIW. The Maintenance Manager organizes and staffs the Maintenance Operations Department to effectively accomplish the APS 2 mission, adhering to financial guidelines.

Specific Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in defining contract maintenance requirements and managing the maintenance planning cycle.
  2. Manage reports of APS 2 equipment, analyzing data for operational readiness.
  3. Use classified IT systems, including LIS and GCSS-A, for maintenance and logistics management.
  4. Ensure qualified personnel are assigned with appropriate equipment and tools.
  5. Safeguard, segregate, and maintain equipment containing sensitive or classified parts.
  6. Work closely with Army counterparts on evolving requirements and surges.
  7. Enforce adherence to technical data, Army regulations, and policies.
  8. Advise on conditions affecting maintenance execution.
  9. Adjust resources to meet daily and surge requirements.
  10. Assign supervisory coverage for shifts.
  11. Provide timely reports for contract deliverables.
  12. Resolve issues and pursue continuous improvement.
  13. Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance actions.
  14. Collaborate with quality control to analyze performance and recommend improvements.
  15. Initiate management actions for workload and deficiencies.
  16. Ensure safety compliance and property accountability.
Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR an associate's degree plus 7 years, OR a major certification plus 7 years, OR 11 years of recent specialized experience.

Desired and Additional Qualifications:
  • Hands-on knowledge of Army logistics systems like GCSS-Army and USR.
  • SECRET security clearance.
  • Effective communication skills for meetings, reports, and instructions.
  • Ability to meet security and installation access requirements.
  • Ability to operate Government-provided light vehicles.
