The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of Tenure Track Assistant Professor in » Multi-Modal Human-Machine Communication « to begin as soon as possible. This is a W2 fixed-term (6-year) tenure-track professorship with the possibility for promotion to a tenured W3.
Scientific Environment
The professorship will be assigned to the TUM School of Computation, Information & Technology.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research, teaching, and the promotion of early-career scientists. The focus is on Multi-modal human-machine communication, especially natural language systems, image-based interaction (facial recognition, gesture recognition, action recognition), relevant in smartphone and automotive applications, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and machine learning methods like deep learning and generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT).
Qualifications
Candidates should have demonstrated scientific achievements, capacity for independent research at the highest international level, a university degree, an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent, pedagogical aptitude, and substantial research experience abroad.
