Job Description:

In a global team, you design and optimize all aerodynamic components of turbocharger turbines using commercial and internal numerical tools. You will oversee the complete aero development workflow, including hardware test evaluations. A basic understanding of turbine/engine system performance is essential. You will collaborate with other departments, customers, and external partners. Your role includes developing and improving methods and tools for turbine design and simulation, and developing the aero portfolio of a dedicated turbine technology within the turbine team.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Aerodynamic design of turbocharger components
  • Simulation of turbine flow
  • Generation of turbine maps for engine process simulation
  • Development and enhancement of 1D and 3D simulation processes and methods
  • Collaboration with external partners and research institutes
  • Supporting internal and external customers to improve turbine performance
  • Presenting results to internal & external customers
Your Profile:
  • PhD / Master in Mechanical Engineering or comparable qualification
  • Academic focus on turbomachinery / aerodynamics
  • Work experience or PhD thesis in turbomachinery design
  • Good understanding of combustion engines and experience in engine simulation
  • Skills in design and CFD software, e.g., ANSYS
  • Strong analytical skills with a conscientious, structured work approach
  • Experience in customer and supplier interactions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
