We are looking for an ESG Innovation Manager – Power Cable Industry (m/f/d) to join our Energy Innovation Dept. team in the Innovation Division.

Type of contract: Permanent (full-time)

Place of work: Wiesbaden

We are seeking a highly qualified ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Manager to oversee and implement sustainability strategies in the power cable industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, professional experience in ESG management, and expertise in renewable energy, transformers, or other electricity-related fields. This position requires a proactive leader who can drive ESG initiatives, ensure compliance with regulations, and contribute to the company’s sustainability goals.

Depending on the expertise and experience, the position shall be filled with a Coordinator or a Manager.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement ESG strategies to align with industry best practices, corporate sustainability goals, and regulatory requirements.
2. Monitor ESG performance metrics and report key findings to senior management and stakeholders.
3. Ensure compliance with international and local ESG-related regulations, industry standards and sustainability reporting frameworks.
4. Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, procurement, compliance, finance) to integrate ESG principles into business operations.
5. Lead ESG risk assessments and identify opportunities for improvement in environmental and social responsibility.
6. Engage with external stakeholders (government agencies, NGOs, suppliers, investors) to promote sustainable business practices.
7. Conduct training and awareness programs to enhance ESG knowledge within the company.

Skills And Experience

1. Education: Master’s degree or higher (Doctorate preferred) in Environmental Science, Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, Sustainability or related fields.
2. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in ESG management, sustainability, or related roles within the energy, power, or electrical industry.
3. Technical Knowledge: Prior experience in power cables is preferred, but candidates with expertise in renewable energy, transformers, or other electricity-related topics will also be considered.
4. Strong analytical and project management skills to lead ESG initiatives effectively.
5. Language Skills: fluent in English; German proficiency is beneficial.
6. Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks such as GRI, TCFD or SASB desirable.
7. Experience working with corporate sustainability policies and regulatory compliance in the energy sector is advantageous.
8. Knowledge of carbon footprint analysis, energy efficiency, and circular economy principles desirable.
