This position provides Joint Battle Command - Platform (JBC-P)/Mounted Mission Command – Software (MMC-S) Blue Force Tracker (BFT) Technicians to the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) Operations Group (OPSGRP) located at Hohenfels, Germany. JMRC’s mission is to train Multinational Interoperability to US, NATO, and partner nation forces up to the Brigade level in an extended Live, Virtual, and Constructive Decisive Action Training Environment. JMRC supports the US Army Europe theater security cooperation plan through planning and participation in NATO and U.S. Army Europe exercise programs.

The Joint Battle Command - Platform (JBC-P)/Mounted Mission Command – Software (MMC-S) Blue Force Tracker (BFT) Technician is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and supporting member of the JMRC. JBC-P/MMC-S BFT Technicians work in support of JMRC rotations/exercises includes installation, configuration, testing, training, maintenance, and execution support to all variations of BFT to include, but not limited to: Joint Battle Command – Platform (JBC-P) and Mounted Mission Command – Software (MMC-S) on BFT Type II and III transceivers, ruggedized laptops, Programmable Encryption Devices (PED), and Mounted Family of Computer Systems (MFoCS) hardware.

List of Proposed Duties:

  • Installs, administers, maintains, and operates the U.S. Army’s JBC-P/MMC-S BFT hardware and software to support customer training rotations. FBCB2 BFT systems include, but not limited to: JBC-P, MMC-S on BFT Type II and III transceivers, ruggedized laptops, Programmable Encryption Devices (PED), and Mounted Family of Computer Systems (MFoCS) hardware.
  • Installs systems and mounts in tactical military vehicles with the Program Manager-certified mount hardware for BFT, JBC-P, and MMC-S systems as well as Tactical Operations Center and Command Post systems.
  • Configures BFT components with appropriate software, maps, and database versions to support training requirements, and updates firmware on transceivers, PEDs, and MFoCS hardware.
  • Performs weekly Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) of customer BFT systems, records completions in Maintenance Information System (MIS), and coordinates discrepancies and ordering of parts with government-appointed interface.
  • Provides over-the-shoulder training on use of BFT hardware and JBC-P and MMC-S software to customers.
  • Demonstrates the system’s capabilities and operations.

Required Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
  • An associate degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
  • A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
  • 11 years of recent specialized experience
  • Current Security+ or equivalent certification

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience installing, operating, or providing training on BFT hardware and JBC-P or MMC-S software, and familiar with installation of electronic equipment in tactical military vehicles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work long hours on consecutive days/nights in support of exercise preparation, execution, helpdesk, evaluation and close-out.
  • Possess active U.S. SECRET clearance.

Other Requirements:

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U. S. Citizenship status with ability to obtain a SECRET to TOP SECRET security clearance. Security Clearance requirements will be specified in the Government's Task Order.
