As Risk Manager EMEA, your primary responsibility is to develop and lead risk management strategies across the EMEA region, with an initial focus on ensuring compliance with the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG). Over time, this role will expand into a broader, cross-functional risk management function, acting as a central liaison between departments and serving as an independent control authority reporting directly to the Managing Director.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping a holistic risk culture within Nippon Express EMEA, strengthening internal controls, supporting compliance initiatives, and proactively mitigating strategic and operational risks.
These are your key tasks:
- Monitor and improve compliance processes related to the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG)
- Develop and maintain a region-wide risk management framework covering all core business areas (operations, finance, IT, etc.
- Act as a central point of contact across departments to ensure a cross-functional and integrated approach to risk management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to logistics operations, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, and financial controls
- Design and implement risk response strategies, ensuring effective incident and crisis management
- Coordinate internal and external risk audits and support overall regulatory compliance efforts
- Prepare and present risk reports to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations for proactive mitigation

Requirements- Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in German is considered an advantage.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Law, Finance, Logistics, or a closely related discipline.
- At least three years of professional experience in risk management, compliance, or internal control, preferably within the logistics or transportation industry.
- Demonstrated capability to manage complex risk scenarios spanning multiple business functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, complemented by a proactive and strategic mindset.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
- Proven experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of risk management frameworks and policies.
