Job Opportunity: Site Manager in Leipzig, Germany

We are seeking a Site Manager (m/f/d) for our Leipzig locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

1. Ensuring Safety and fostering a GoalZero culture by leading through example, maintaining discipline, and ensuring compliance for the safety and well-being of employees, contractors, and the community.
2. Monitoring and reviewing the implementation of Environmental, Health, Safety, and Operational Excellence standards to ensure compliance with internal standards, legislation, and permits.
3. Managing daily operations of multiple sorting and recycling sites to ensure efficiency and productivity.
4. Building a strong, efficient site organization through strategic planning, staff development, coaching, and mentoring.
5. Driving continuous improvement initiatives aligned with business priorities, using benchmarking references.
6. Implementing and monitoring KPIs to evaluate and enhance operational performance.
7. Developing and managing budgets to ensure cost-effective operations.
8. Ensuring adherence to environmental regulations and promoting sustainable practices.
9. Maintaining relationships with stakeholders including authorities, suppliers, and community organizations.
10. Engaging with business functions on feedstock and product development.
11. Supporting procurement activities and preparing reports on performance, sustainability, and finances.
12. Analyzing data to inform decision-making and operational improvements.
13. Fostering a culture of action, accountability, and leadership, while attracting and developing talent.
14. Managing operational budgets and expenditures.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in operations management, preferably with expertise in sortation and recycling technology.
• Experience in the (petro)chemical or recycling industry.
• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
• Proven leadership skills in managing operations, HSE, process optimization, and budgeting.
• Experience with brownfield plant development, modifications, and project management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
