A leading global manufacturer is seeking a skilled Wafer Fab Manager to oversee production in Dortmund. We are looking for a skilled and strategic Wafer Fab Manager to lead our production organization (~100 employees) in Dortmund. This includes overseeing multiple manufacturing modules, maintenance, and production control within our semiconductor facility. The ideal candidate will drive performance across output, quality, cost, safety, and sustainability, while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
About the job:
Lead and develop the production team, ensuring high performance in volume, quality, cost-efficiency, and safety.
Translate strategic goals into operational execution by collaborating with Engineering, R&D, Planning, Maintenance, and Quality teams.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing, automation, and process optimization.
Balance innovation with budget and resource constraints, while ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.
Reduce defect density, manage equipment maintenance/calibration, and oversee accurate production documentation and inspections.
Report on key performance metrics including production output, cost development, and quality results.
Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including collaboration with the works council.
About you:
Degree in Engineering, Physics, Electronics, or related technical field.
7+ years of leadership experience in high-tech manufacturing, ideally in semiconductor production.
Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, lean practices, process control, and performance management.
Strategic mindset with a hands-on, operational leadership approach.
Excellent communication skills in English (German a plus).
