Within the Tire Sector, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel (m/f/diverse) with expertise in technical product compliance to join our dynamic legal team in Hannover, Germany. As a key member of our Global Commercial Law Department, you will provide expert legal advice to the tire business, among others:
- Provide legal support related to technical product compliance issues, particularly for Quality-relevant departments and operational units.
- Support product recalls and product integrity issues.
- Assist in responding to regulatory authority inquiries, including investigations and technical support.
- Analyze, monitor, and evaluate relevant legal regulations, including legislative developments.
- Evaluate actual and potential legal risks and liabilities, and develop methods, processes, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance and overall risk management.
- Prepare legal and business guidelines and expert opinions considering current legal and legislative developments.
- Support the evolution of an appropriate risk management system.
- Interpret technical and environmental regulations impacting daily operations.
- Provide pragmatic and strategic legal advice to minimize risks while supporting business goals.
- Counsel and train employees on compliance issues, best practices, and strategies.
- Develop and organize training courses for legal and product compliance.
Qualifications
- Law degree from an accredited law school in Germany (Volljurist).
- Multiple years of professional experience, preferably in the automotive industry, especially regarding product compliance.
- Ability to explain complex regulations clearly to all organizational levels, including Senior Management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
- Analytical and results-oriented work approach.
- Deep understanding of technical subjects and interest in them.
- Strong interdisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Organizational talent and negotiation skills, considering cultural differences.
- Ability to work with international clients and colleagues, with regular travel within the US and internationally.
