Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Logging Platform team at New Relic. Your role will involve designing, developing, and enhancing core features of our log streaming services and APIs, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security in a multi-cloud environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and stay ahead of industry trends to innovate and optimize our platform.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop scalable Java services and APIs for log streaming.
2. Improve reliability, security, and cost-efficiency of the backend logging platform.
3. Manage cloud infrastructure across multiple providers.
4. Automate processes to improve team efficiency.
5. Mentor and guide other engineers towards technical excellence.
6. Collaborate with product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
7. Research and implement innovative solutions to enhance platform performance and stability.
8. Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in software development, engineering, or related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in Java and/or Go with a strong CS background.
3. Experience with large-scale software systems and cloud-native technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and OpenTelemetry.
4. Proven mentoring skills and ability to lead technical initiatives.
5. Deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
6. Enthusiasm for exploring new technologies and solving complex problems.
7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
8. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and related technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with real-time data streaming and distributed systems.
• Background in observability products and SaaS environments.
