About the Job :

This role is based in Keysight Laboratories in Bochum, where we develop application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) to drive performance breakthroughs and differentiate our electronic test and measurement products. We foster a collaborative engineering environment that emphasizes teamwork, enthusiasm, and excellence in designing high-performance analog and mixed-signal ICs.

What you will be doing :

As an Experienced Mixed-Signal Designer, you will join the Mixed-Signal ASIC Design team as a senior or co-lead designer. Your responsibilities include developing custom ASIC data converter solutions for GHz applications, implementing core ADC and DAC structures, designing streaming I/O data paths, and contributing to the measurement and emulation of communication transceiver ASICs. You will work with CMOS and BiCMOS technologies to innovate high-performance mixed-signal ASICs, enhancing our test and measurement products' performance and cost-effectiveness, enabling the generation of high-speed signals like RF communications and serial link waveforms. Your expertise will contribute to creating some of the world's fastest and most accurate measurement ICs.

Required Qualifications :
  • A PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, with thesis work on mixed-signal IC design (preferred), or an M.S. with substantial relevant experience.
  • Several years of direct experience designing and developing high-speed (>5 GSa/s, 8+ bits) ADC converters in advanced CMOS technologies (28nm and smaller), at both architectural and transistor levels.
  • Experience in ADC chip turn-on, testing, debugging, and performance documentation.
  • Proficiency in designing high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits in advanced CMOS technologies, at schematic and layout levels.
  • Experience with mixed-signal building blocks and integrated systems such as PLLs, DACs, serializers, or wideband amplifiers.
  • Ability to work well in a team, lead technically, and document and present results effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills for dynamic, cross-functional teamwork.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and identify root causes of complex problems.
  • Self-motivated with a drive to meet aggressive development schedules and manufacturing standards.
Desired Qualifications :
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers.
  • Applying analog and digital signal processing to data converter systems to enhance linearity, accuracy, and performance.
  • Experience with 28 Gbps SERDES circuits (e.g., CDRs, AFE, DFE).
  • Background in device modeling, thermal design, and IC packaging.
  • Understanding of semiconductor technologies, signal integrity, and electromagnetic issues.
  • Experience with mixed-mode simulation using tools like Verilog or Verilog-A.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting for automation.
  • Experience with RTL-based digital design flows for verified netlists and physical synthesis.
What we offer :

An exciting opportunity within a leading company that develops innovative solutions for a connected and secure world. We provide a competitive package and a vibrant culture. Details about our culture and benefits can be found HERE.
