Gator Bio is a pre-IPO biotech company located in Palo Alto, CA. We are creating innovative technologies to solve difficult problems facing today’s healthcare industries. We develop, manufacture, and market instruments, biosensors, reagents, and consumables for in-vitro diagnostics and biotherapeutic development. Our mission is to simplify and accelerate biological analysis for biotherapeutic research and development.
We are hiring a remote International Field Application Scientist. This role involves providing pre-sales and post-sales support, and prior to product launch, developing protein-protein interaction assays using proprietary technologies.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Providing high-level technical application support and presentations at customer sites, vendor conferences, webinars, and scientific meetings.
- Performing BLI analysis of customer samples, including specificity, kinetics, and affinity of biomolecular interactions.
- Offering pre- and post-sales support through product demonstrations, technical presentations, seminars, training, and customer service during joint customer sales visits.
- Developing and transferring expert knowledge through training and support of hardware and software, staying current with new assay developments.
- Supporting customer service initiatives and sales goals proactively.
- Contributing to the development of application notes and teaching manuals.
- Writing technical documents highlighting new applications involving Gator Bio’s BLI systems and label-free solutions.
- Staying informed of new technological advances through research, publications, and patents, and partnering with collaborators and industry KOLs.
- Reporting on competitor products and feedback to Sales and Product Management teams.
Qualifications
- PhD or experienced preferred; MS level required with 5 years’ experience in label-free technology such as Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI), Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR), or similar instrumentation.
- Experience with immunoassays development, including ELISA, SPR, BLI, or similar technologies.
- Expertise in label-free technologies like Bio-Layer Interferometry or Surface Plasmon Resonance is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, well-organized, with the ability to develop contacts and build rapport at all levels.
- Experience with Liquid Handlers such as Tecan, Hamilton, or Perkin Elmer is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SFDC, or other CRM tools.
- Ability to travel up to 50% and operate from a remote home-base, with on-site work as needed.
