Jobbeschreibung

We are looking for a Head of Sustainability to work with our client based in Germany.

The client has been recognised for over 20 years for their expertise in finance, as well as their approach to climate finance.

This role is a full-time permanent position, with an attractive salary package & benefit scheme, operated on a remote basis with occasional trips to their sites across Europe.

Our client focuses on helping private and public decision-makers manage climate-related financial risks and make the most of financial tools to support the transition to a low-emission economy that is more resilient to climate change.

They have a long track record as an independent and critical reference centre in helping long-term investors to understand and manage the financial implications of climate change on asset prices and the management of investments and climate action policies

Responsibilities & Activities :

  • Analyse how technological innovations can drive decarbonisation across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions in various sectors, while also enhancing resilience.
  • Develop and refine methodologies for accurately costing individual decarbonisation and resilience strategies, incorporating lifecycle assessments, cost-benefit analyses, and financial modelling to support decision-making in infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create innovative tools and models for climate risk assessments that address real-world challenges.
  • Engage with the financial sector and industry to align research outputs with customer needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Publish high-impact research in scientific journals and contribute to conferences, workshops, and industry forums.
  • Stay informed on emerging climate policies, technological advancements, and market trends, in particular in relation to regulations, decarbonisation and climate resilience, to incorporate them into assessments and recommendations.
  • Implement and improve existing sustainability approaches with our clients, as well as oversee headcount growth and departmental & client-related KPIs.

Requirements :

  • A master’s degree in climate science, civil and environmental engineering, economics, supply chain management, financial modelling, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in assessing, designing, and costing climate resilience strategies
  • Proven ability to conduct interdisciplinary research and develop practical applications of scientific findings.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Communication skills, with experience presenting complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with the financial sector, including climate-related disclosures, regulatory and voluntary sustainability frameworks, and market incentives.
