Daikin Europe is hiring a Cloud Solutions Architect.

As a Cloud Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing plans to make our Cloud and App solutions future-proof. You will help expand our innovative, stable, and client-oriented cloud platform for our range of products. Your role is key in constructing a lean architecture that balances cost and performance for Daikin’s Cloud solutions.

About EDC

The EMEA Electrics and Controls department, located at Tech Lane Ghent Science Park, is one of the fastest-growing departments within the EMEA Development Centre (EDC) of Daikin. It is responsible for developing and improving controls such as room controls, unit controls, and cloud controls.

Part of our work involves:

• Embedded software development
• Cloud and App development

We combine in-house development with strategic cooperation with external partners to enhance our products, ensuring they remain industry leaders. All Daikin departments collaborate closely to ensure high-quality products for the EMEA market.

Your role

• Design, document, and visualize the architecture of our Cloud services and supporting tools.
• Collaborate with the product development team to ensure the design is supported and realized.
• Align the end-to-end architecture of our IoT systems with various component teams.
• Coordinate with technology suppliers and implementation partners as an expert.
• Analyze risks and impacts of changes to the IoT ecosystem architecture.

Key technologies you will use

• Managed services such as New Relic, Kong, MongoDB, CDC, Kinesis, AWS IoT Core, AWS Sagemaker

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in computer sciences or related field.
• Knowledge of some of the mentioned technologies or eagerness to learn.
• Expertise in at least one cloud platform, preferably AWS.
• Understanding of IoT concepts, including communication with low-resource embedded devices.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture using containerized applications.
• Experience in API design and data modeling.
• Awareness of industry trends; ability to innovate through research and proofs of concept.
• Strong understanding of cloud security concepts.
• Several years of business experience, enabling self-direction and organizational structuring.
• Ability to conceptualize and communicate technological advantages clearly.
• Experience in project management or coordinating multiple internal and external parties.
