Job Description:
Your main activities in this position

Your Mission:

As Head of Quality Management, you will be responsible for shaping and executing Cubonic’s quality strategy across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier networks. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires deep expertise in developing and implementing quality management systems and engineering processes in an automotive environment.

You will play a key role in ensuring quality and compliance throughout our product lifecycle — from prototype to series production — with a special focus on systems for functional safety (ASIL) and autonomous driving technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define, implement, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 26262.
  • Lead the development and execution of quality assurance processes across product development (APQP, PPAP), engineering validation, and pre-series build.
  • Support cross-functional teams in building mature, audit-ready engineering processes.
  • Manage internal and external audits (system/process/product), including supplier audits.
  • Establish robust problem-solving methodologies (8D, Ishikawa, FMEA) across departments.
  • Drive a zero-defect mindset in early development stages with hands-on involvement in issue resolution, lessons learned, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with development, project management, purchasing, and production to ensure quality is embedded in every step.
  • Build and lead a small but effective Quality Team, scaling as the company grows.
  • Prepare for upcoming homologation, functional safety audits, and certification readiness.
Required Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in quality management within the automotive industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive quality standards: IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, ISO 26262, ASPICE, etc.
  • Proven experience in engineering quality and process development, especially in the context of R&D, prototype builds, and vehicle launch.
  • Familiarity with start-up environments or greenfield projects is a big plus.
  • Strong hands-on mentality: you are comfortable working directly with engineers, suppliers, and technical teams to resolve issues.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Working at Cubonic
  • Change to the future - In our young, dynamic and highly motivated team we design a new, effective and value-oriented automotive development
  • Grown company with start-up flair: first-name culture, short communication channels, independent work and helpful colleagues
  • Further development: Due to our strong growth, there are always new opportunities for personal and professional development. Targeted training courses will help you along this path
  • Flexible work hours and remote work opportunities.
  • Collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Opportunity to work on cutting edge technology in the autonomous vehicle industry.
