Job Description:

How brave are you? We are a high-tech company providing machine tools and laser technology, and are looking for people who can face new challenges with a fresh mind. As an independent family company, we offer you the freedom and trust to put your brave ideas into practice. With you on board, we would like to power ahead with the digital networking of the manufacturing industry. Our passion and creative drive ensure that we are an innovative force – across the globe at over 80 TRUMPF locations.

In cooperation with partner ASML and Carl Zeiss, TRUMPF produces an EUV exposure system for the semiconductor industry. This EUV lithography was awarded the German Future Prize in 2020. This technology enables the production of the latest 2 nanometer computer chip generation. TRUMPF supplies the technically very complex high-power laser source, which is operated and accepted on-site at the customer’s facility.

For exciting insights about EUV lithography, visit our website.

Create diagnostic strategies based on given system architecture and potential failure modes in the framework of TRUMPF’s complex high power CO2 laser implemented in the latest EUV lithography technology.

Support failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) in terms of product development by providing diagnostic expertise and solutions.

Develop diagnostic logic and deterministic diagnostic flows for efficient failure analysis based on predefined parameters.

Define and maintain required signals for diagnostics requirements with controls and metrology experts.

Generate models to enable proactive/predictive maintenance, support diagnostic capability validation tests and refine diagnostic strategies.

Continuously drive improvements such as optimizing the interplay of hardware, tools and sequences, documentation of diagnostic logic & strategies as well as initiation of lessons learned sessions.

Participate in an interdisciplinary team in close cooperation with different departments within TRUMPF.

Communicate with the customer, e.g., for technical coordination and intake of requirements/change requests.

(Worldwide) Development/service support on site at the customer.

What we are looking for
  • Excellent MSc. or PhD degree in the field of science or engineering (e.g., physics, optical/mechanical/electrical engineering, mechatronics, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, functional analysis, and failure modes in complex systems.
  • Hands-on experience with measurement and sensing technologies and ideally knowledge in the field of metrology and control technology.
  • Experience in diagnostics in industry including methodologies like FMEA, fault tree analysis, etc., is an advantage.
  • Skills in automation/control of measuring equipment (Python, C++) and data evaluation (Matlab) are an advantage.
  • Analytical, independent, self-responsible, and problem-solving work style.
  • Flexibility, creativity, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and ability to work in cross-functional, international teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Business-fluent English and B1 level German (minimum), higher levels beneficial.
What we offer
  • State-of-the-art working environment with the latest technology.
  • Early responsibility and varied tasks.
  • Extensive training and development opportunities.
  • Promotion of work-life balance, e.g., with sports and fitness programs.
  • Respectful and appreciative corporate culture.
