The European Space Agency is seeking a System and Applications Engineer to join their Ground Segment Architecture, Data & AI Section. The role involves contributing to the design and engineering of ground segment systems, overseeing operational validation, and promoting innovative technologies in data architecture and AI. Candidates should have a master's degree and preferably a background in space systems and cloud-native design.

System and Applications Engineer in the Ground Segment Architecture, Data & AI Section (OPS-GAA) of the System and Applications Engineering Division in the Ground Systems Engineering and Innovation Department, Directorate of Operations.
The Ground Segment Architecture, Data & AI Section (OPS-GAA) manages systems and support activities for ground segment software architecture, data architecture, and artificial intelligence systems.
Depending on skills and background, responsibilities may include a System Architect role in areas such as:
Tasks include establishing requirements, producing specifications, managing procurement contracts, accepting deliveries, collecting and implementing user feedback, applying configuration management, supporting users, managing maintenance and training, and supporting integration and validation, including cloud-native data platforms.
Additional activities involve research, technology development, experimentation, and promoting innovative concepts and standards in ground and data architecture and AI.

A master's degree in a relevant domain is required.
