Your role

What you'll be doing

Corpay is currently looking to hire a Senior Financial Accountant with German within our Plugsurfing division, located in Berlin. In this role, you will be responsible for statutory accounting of Plugsurfing GmbH, ensuring tax compliance, participating in audits, and collaborating with the finance team to maintain high-quality accounting data. You will report to the Head of Finance and work closely with both internal teams and external auditors.

This role involves a hybrid work environment (2 days home office, 3 days in-office). Corpay provides:

• Company equipment: laptop, monitor, accessories, remote access

Role Responsibilities

• Lead accounting processes for statutory accounts
• Ensure tax compliance, including VAT across multiple registrations
• Manage monthly closing and validate financial data
• Collaborate with finance team for accurate financial reporting
• Develop and improve accounting processes
• Support audit activities and serve as main contact for auditors
• Assist with ad hoc analysis and reporting

Qualifications & Skills

• Fluent in German (C1-C2) and English (B2+)
• Proven experience as a Financial Accountant with accurate, compliant performance
• Mastery of German GAAP; familiarity with US GAAP, IFRS, Dutch GAAP
• Strong accounting skills, detail-oriented, proactive
• Experience with Dynamics D365
• Knowledge of German VAT and direct taxation; international VAT knowledge is a plus
• Adaptability and decision-making skills in a fast-changing environment
• Energetic, resourceful, responsible attitude
• Payroll accounting experience is a plus
• Experience with payment providers (Adyen, Stripe, PayPal) and tools like Datev, NetSuite, PowerBI is advantageous
• Professional qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, Bilanzbuchhalter) are highly valued
