Job Description:

Purpose and Scope:

Utilizing applied knowledge, the Sr. Patient Account Representative – Collections provides high-level administrative support to collections operations within assigned functions. Ensures timely receipt of claim payments and minimizes bad debt through ongoing database maintenance. Provides excellent customer service through effective communication.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and resolve complex claims and discrepancies under limited supervision.
  • Generate and analyze reports to resolve complex patient account issues.
  • Review and resolve outstanding payments from past due accounts.
  • Ensure timely claim payments, process payments, and reconcile data.
  • Perform administrative tasks according to company policies, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Serve as a point of contact for inquiries and unresolved issues.
  • Mentor staff as applicable.
  • Escalate issues to supervisor when necessary.
  • Assist with projects assigned by supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Additional responsibilities may focus on specific departments or locations.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years’ related experience or degree without experience.
  • Proficient in computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, email).
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and team player.
  • Excellent communication skills.
