We are seeking a Financial Accountant (m/f/d) based in Munich to join our global technical accounting team at Allianz Commercial.

The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the Head of Treaty Technical Accounting, you will work on key internal operational entities, support global processes and projects, and gain exposure to reinsurance accounting and reporting tasks. This role offers excellent team collaboration, global exposure, and development opportunities.

Responsibilities

1. Governance and Quality Assurance: Document policies, procedures, workflows; archive records for audit compliance; draft standards to improve quality and global operations.
2. Project Work: Support various initiatives and tasks as assigned.
3. Reporting and Closing: Ensure accurate IFRS, GAAP, and statutory closing and reporting; handle postings, journal entries, and reconciliations; manage intercompany transactions.
4. Data Coordination: Manage data transfer and reconciliation; oversee monthly legal entity close submissions.
5. Third-party Relationship Management: Maintain relationships with auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders.
6. Global P&L Analysis and Reviews: Assist with reports and research; identify issues for discussion or resolution.
7. Contribution to Global Policies: Support the implementation of global policies and workflows.

Qualifications

1. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills for data analysis and communication.
2. Understanding of insurance financial statements and performance metrics.
3. Knowledge of local GAAP, IAS/IFRS, and regulatory policies.
4. Experience managing complex closing, reporting, and finance processes.
5. Professional experience in reinsurance, P&C insurance, or asset management.
6. Understanding of standard accounting practices (GAAP & IFRS) for insurance and reinsurance.
7. Experience working in international and dynamic environments.
8. Willingness to learn and explore AI applications in finance.
