For the winter term of 2025/26, we are seeking a professor (m/f/d) for the degree program Software Development at IU International University, limited to 2 years at our campus in Berlin, full-time (5 days on campus) or part-time (4 days on campus), starting on October 1st, 2025.
- You will represent the field of Software Development in teaching and research within the bachelor's degree program and become part of an extensive network in higher education.
- You will develop and lead face-to-face lectures on Campus and supervise students during exams and thesis preparations.
- You will teach practice-oriented fundamental knowledge in Software Development and train students in areas such as Algorithms, Data Structures, Programming Languages, Web Application Development, IT Systems, Python Programming, and Data-Intensive Sciences.
- You will contribute to the creative development of teaching formats within IU’s didactic concept and collaborate with colleagues to enhance these formats.
Your Profile
At IU International University, we focus on delivering practical knowledge. Therefore, we are looking for an expert in Software Development with professional experience, scientific expertise, and didactic skills that will enhance our teaching.
- You have successfully completed a university degree in Software Development or a related field with outstanding academic performance and hold a relevant doctoral degree (Ph.D.).
- You have at least five years of practical work experience, including three years outside academia, and may have initial teaching experience.
- You demonstrate your expertise through publications or projects.
- You are team-oriented, reliable, and committed to in-person teaching, with proficiency in virtual lectures.
- You reside permanently in Germany.
- You have English skills at C1 level according to the CEFR.
The employment conditions are governed by the Higher Education Law Thüringen.
