Your roleAs a Senior Scientist, Computational Biology within the Research Unit Neuroscience & Immunology (N&I), you will join a team of highly motivated scientists dedicated to discovering the treatment solutions of tomorrow for autoimmune & neurodegenerative disorders. You will analyze externally and internally produced omics data to generate novel drug target hypotheses and discover biomarkers directly supporting our N&I projects and therapeutic concepts. You will draw from your deep understanding of the underlying biology (such as neuroinflammatory pathways), expertise in integration and large-scale analysis of singe cell and multi-omics data and robust coding skills. Operating at the intersection of biology and data science, you will make complex datasets available to scientists without coding skills and contribute to the digital literacy within your department. You will interact closely with the R&D bioinformaticians and work in cross-functional drug discovery teams as well as external collaborators. You will communicate effectively across the global organization and with external partners, present your work to senior management, and publish in peer-reviewed scientific journals.Who you are:PhD in Bioinformatics, Biophysics or Computational Biology or in Biology/Medicine/Related field with subsequence specialization in data science or bioinformatics4+ years of experience in bioinformatics, with a strong focus on the analysis of single cell and spatial transcriptomics data within Immunology or Neuroscience/NeurologyExperience in managing scientific projects and external collaborations and experience with leading and collaborating with cross-functional teamsProficiency in R and/or Python and experience in integrating single cell and multimodal omics data to generate new biological insightsSkilled in high performance computing (e.g. AWS), databases, APIs, statistical analysis, and machine learningFamiliarity with drug discovery, development processes, and pre-clinical model translationAnalytical, creative, proactive, and capable of explaining complex concepts and managing collaborations effectivelyStrong communication skills in English
