Hydro Building Systems is seeking a Plant Manager for its logistics and production site in Gerstungen, dedicated to the Wicona Brand. The position will be based in Gerstungen (Thuringia), Germany.
Hydro Building Systems [HBS], with 3,500 employees, operates in the building envelope segment, from design to distribution of aluminum systems (facades, windows, doors, railings, sliding doors, etc.). We have leading positions in Europe through our brands Technal, Wicona, and Sapa.
Reporting to the Plant Manager and overseeing 220 employees, you will lead and manage all resources in the logistics and manufacturing facility. Your goal is to ensure profitable operations that meet or exceed quality and service expectations, with maximum asset utilization. The Gerstungen site includes warehouses, a paint line, a value-added activities workshop, and logistics/transportation functions.
You will be responsible for logistics, warehousing, sourcing, manufacturing, EHS, Quality, and supply chain. Sales and support functions are based in the DACH region, reporting to central commercial management.
Your main responsibilities include:
You should have an engineering background (5-year diploma or equivalent experience) with solid knowledge of mechanics/processes, preferably from a strong industrial culture in metallurgy.
Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience as a production or logistics site manager, managing multiple workshops.
This role suits a rigorous, responsive individual motivated by technological challenges and committed to continuous improvement. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, including effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication to all organizational levels.
Lean manufacturing certification (Green or Yellow belt) is a plus.
