Site Reliability Engineer - Connectivity

About the opportunity

We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join the Platform Engineering Domain in the Connectivity team.

The mission of Platform Engineering is to provide trusted, performant, self-service platforms that empower product teams to build “the bank the world loves to use.” Connectivity's part of this mission is to enable secure, compliant and high-performing intra-service and partner connectivity.

As one of the first banks completely hosted in the cloud, our security, resilience and productivity standards require not only the use of a modern technology stack but the building of teams in line with our principles and in the service of our product teams, the company, and our customers.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop and implement systems, services and solutions, with the aim of improving the security, reliability, scalability and availability of systems in the following domains:

  • Service Mesh

  • Internal Networking

  • Partner Connectivity

  • Secrets Management

  • Service Discovery

• Take ownership of our service mesh and its underlying network stack and ensure its optimal performance and reliability.
• Ensure N26 availability by creating monitors and alerts, diagnosing, and resolving issues related to the service mesh.
• Collaborate with other teams and support them in bringing critical new features to N26.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technology developments in service mesh.
• Identify and automate repetitive tasks.
• Monitor the health of your system and support them as part of an on-call rotation.

What you need to be successful:

• Significant hands-on, production expertise in the design, implementation and maintenance of Kubernetes Clusters.
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in AWS Cloud infrastructure and Services.
• Solid experience in Go.
• Previous experience with Linux, Terraform and CD solutions (Argo or similar).
• Networking experience with Mesh solutions (Istio or similar).
• Monitoring, troubleshooting and incident management experience.

Nice to have:

• Relevant Backend development experience.
