Responsibilities include:

• Planning and Design: Plan, design, and supervise mine development. Conduct geological studies to assess mining sites. Develop and implement mining methods and software.
• Safety and Environmental: Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Conduct site inspections and risk assessments. Manage waste disposal and reclamation. Create rehabilitation plans to restore the mine and surrounding environment.
• Operations: Oversee and coordinate mining operations. Monitor and optimize extraction processes. Analyze production data to identify trends. Prepare project budgets and schedules. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient use of resources and equipment. Collaborate with geologists and other engineers. Coordinate with regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
