Be a part of the energy transition and contribute to the strategic direction of our organization! We are currently seeking a Category Manager (m/f/d) for HV & MV Grid Connections, Transformers, and Switchgear. This position within our central procurement team will involve overseeing the global standardization and procurement of essential medium and high-voltage grid connections, transformers, and switchgear. Your responsibilities will include supplier qualification, selection, procurement, quality control, and the development of the supplier and technology portfolio. You will leverage your understanding of our global projects’ needs to identify suitable suppliers for these components and manage international tenders. Beyond cost efficiency, you will play a key role in quality assurance, both prior to and after the delivery of components.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop a cost-effective supplier portfolio for HV & MV grid connections, transformers, switchgear, and battery storage, while ensuring compliance with quality standards and project timelines
Perform market research to identify and qualify new manufacturers and suppliers, while strengthening existing supplier relationships
Collaborate with project managers and electrical engineers to determine requirements for our solar projects worldwide
Negotiate frame and project contracts, covering terms, pricing, supplier codes of conduct, and sustainability considerations
Collect and share category-specific knowledge, including technology developments, quality standards, and pricing trends
Interface with suppliers and construction sites throughout the supply phase and beyond
Provide support for project escalation and manage supplier-related issues
Ideal Profile:
Degree or substantial professional experience in business management, with a focus on procurement and/or electrical engineering
At least three years of experience in the renewable energy sector, power transmission, supply chain, or a related field
Self-driven, methodical, and proactive, particularly in preparing supplier qualifications, tender processes, and contract finalization within a project pipeline
Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to provide strategic input to senior management for informed decision-making
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, along with experience managing complex relationships with internal teams, suppliers, service providers, and customers
Willingness to travel (approximately 20%)
